March 7, 2002
Although many of you indicated in last week's poll that you knit exclusively for pleasure, I also know that a large percentage of you also dream of one day making it your livelihood.
Going Pro
Our options are many: designer, fiber producer, shepherd(ess), spinner, shop owner, author, you name it.
Throughout the month of March, we'll explore some of these career avenues in more detail. I'll also talk about ways that you can take your knitting to the next level without quitting that day job.
We begin with a journey down under to Perth, Australia, to learn how one woman turned a dream into a reality.
In the Forums
Earlier this week we reached our 1,000th registered forum member! Hard to believe we've come so far in such a brief period of time.
We're currently discussing establishing a token knitted item that will identify Knitter's Review readers and forum members when we go to shows and conferences. If you have ideas or suggestions, join in!
March Prize: You Won't Believe Your Eyes!
This month's subscriber giveaway is a doozy. It's a masterful knitting kit consisting of: Sweater 101, Finishing 101, Janice MacDaniel's Unpattern Patterns, and The Sweater Wizard, all generously provided by Patternworks.com! I'm still pinching myself to make sure it's real.
Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums!
Sincerely,
P.S.-Do you have friends who would enjoy Knitter's Review? If so, use our simple Tell a Friend form and let them know about us.
