Well, it's finally happened. The first naked spinner calendar is on its way to stores everywhere.

The Way of All Fibers
Entitled "Wearing Wool: Celebrating the Ancient Art of Spinning and the Ageless Beauty of Women," the calendar was produced by the Wednesday Spinners, a group of Maine women who have been meeting weekly for more than 25 years.

The women will donate 10 percent of the net proceeds from calendar sales to INFORM Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to identifying and eliminating the environmental causes of breast and other cancers.

Each calendar costs $15 plus $4.75 shipping. For more information and to buy a copy, go to to WearingWool.com.

Rowan Summer Tweed
a skein of Summer Tweeda swatch of Summer Tweed

If you were to mix oatmeal with grape Kool-Aid and spin it loosely into a yarn, chances are it'd look something like Summer Tweed. Is that good or bad?
