a rosy future Alpaca-based yarns from Peru are flooding the market. Many of them come from the same mill and look nearly identical.

This week I present one yarn that stands out, a bold and beautiful DK-weight alpaca that's been handpainted right here in the U.S.

A New Face on Knitting
Anyone in the Washington, D.C., area between now and September 10 will want to check out the exciting new exhibit of sculptural knitting and crochet at Eleven Eleven Sculpture Space. Called Not the Knitting You Know, the exhibit features inspired knitted and crocheted works of 16 fiber artists including Katharine Cobey, Andrea Uravitch, Kathleen Holmes, Gayle Roehm, and Blanka Sperkova.
