Knitter's Review
May 7, 2009
A friendly festival sheep

Always the first weekend in may, the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is arguably the largest and most important fiber festival in the United States.

Should the first weekend in May be declared High Holy Days for knitters? Fresh from this year's festival, Wild Fibers Magazine editor and publisher Linda Cortright explores that question this week in a special editorial.

This Weekend in New Hampshire
Maryland may be the grande dame of fiber festivals, but it certainly isn't the only one. If you're in New England and eager for a road trip, drive out to the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Contoocook, New Hampshire this weekend for the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival. The fairgrounds, with their old New England summer-camp feel, are a perfect backdrop for this quieter, family-friendly event.

In the Forum: Favorite Patterns
Minh has posed an excellent question this week: What patterns do you love? Let's share some inspiration. They might be patterns that you knit again and again, or a pattern that you're dying to try for the first time. What are your favorites?
