Knitter's Review
September 8, 2011
Symfonie Dreamz interchangeables

Everyone's agog over interchangeables. Having so many needle choices is simply irresistible.

This week I introduce a new player to the North American knitting needle market. Called Knitter's Pride, this Indian company offers all kinds of needles, including a charmingly colorful wooden set called Symfonie Dreamz.

Wool Week
Through September 11th, the UK celebrates Wool Week with a dizzying number of events, exhibitions, open-houses, and activities designed to celebrate and promote wool awareness.

In the U.S. the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival runs Friday through Sunday at the Jefferson County Fair Park in Jefferson, Wisconsin. And in Searsport, Maine, the 7th-annual Fiber College on Penobscot Bay kicks off at the Searsport Shores Ocean Campground on Penobscot Bay.

News from the Spinnery
The Green Mountain Spinnery has produced some wonderful yarns over the years. The mill wants to help its neighbors rebuild a Vermont that was devastated by Hurricane Irene. Now through September 11th, the spinnery is donating all profits from its shop and online sales to the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund. Worthy yarns for an even worthier cause.

As always, I thank you for your readership and your support.

Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums,
Clara Parkes
