March 13, 2014 As I write this, the Northeast is being pelted with another snow storm. But have faith. We're already seeing apple blossoms in Oregon, and crocuses along the Chesapeake. The sun is higher in the sky, the birds are going tweet tweet, and it's only a matter of time before winter's back is truly broken for yet another year. I'm not advocating we put away the woolens quite yet, but we can lighten the fabrics a little. This week I have a fascinating candidate. Imagine the halo of Kidsilk Haze, but do away with the silk binder and the spun construction. Instead, all the fuzz exists within a fine nylon mesh. Berroco Cirrus is an unusual but enticing concoction. Coming Up Also this weekend, the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival celebrates its 10th year; in the Boston area, 11 of the area's finest shops open their doors for the North Shore Yarn Crawl.
