Knitter's Review
August 30, 2007
my hand-dyed semisolid sock yarn

Last week's sock pattern caused quite a run on semisolid sock yarns. Knitters raced to the online vendors listed in the article, only to discover that they'd already sold out of their entire stock.

Here's an idea: Why not dye the yarn yourself? That's what I just did with Louet's Hand-Dyed Sock Kit. This week I share the kit's benefits and limitations and how you can use it to make your very own, very special semisolid sock yarn.

In the Forums: Stash Philosophies
One member has a peculiar habit of looking at her stash not in terms of how much yarn it contains, but rather in terms of how long it will take her to make projects from it. Is she alone? How do you view your stash?

This Weekend in Missouri
The 28th-annual World Sheep and Fiber Arts Festival takes place September 1-3 in Bethel, Missouri. Admission is free, and you'll find all the trappings of a good fiber festival: a sheep-to-shawl contest, sheep-dog demonstrations, silent fleece auction, and loads of exhibitors.

As always, thank you for your readership and your support.

Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums!
