Knitter's Review
September 9, 2010
swatching bliss on the porch

Pairings produce remarkable surprises, like a dash of cayenne in chocolate or a sprinkling of fleur de sel over a pan of freshly poured caramels. They can delight us in yarn, too.

This week I stranded Filatura di Crosa's lace-weight Nirvana and Superior together for a blissful, dare I say sublime swatching experience.

This Weekend in London
Head to the Royal Horticultural Halls this Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11, for the fourth-annual I Knit Weekender. This much-beloved event features a large market of yarn-related vendors, plus workshops and presentations by the likes of Martin Storey, Erika Knight, Wooly Wormhead, Debbie Bliss, and—you heard me right—Alice Starmore herself.

In the Forum: Rolling Edges
Anne is knitting a stockinette sweater, and guess what? The bottom edge keeps rolling and rolling and rolling. She feels like she's making a scroll, not a sweater. Stockinette stitch will always do this, but we're sharing tips on how you can minimize the rolling.
