Solitude Wool is one of my favorite sources for breed-specific yarns. Based in Virginia, Solitude creates artisan yarns from its own sheep as well as the flocks of other small farms in the Chesapeake Bay region. The yarns are naturally dyed or au naturel.

To buy Solitude yarns, you either had to visit their booth at a show or market, or pick up an ancient communications device called a "telephone" and speak with Gretchen or Sue directly. Now, an online shopping cart changes all this. If you haven't heard about Solitude yet, let me introduce you.

This Week in Minnesota
I'm headed to the Twin Cities for the 25th annual Minnesota Knitters' Guild Yarnover, a day-long knitting bash on Saturday, April 30th, at the Hopkins Senior High School in Minnetonka. Merike Saarniit is this year's keynote speaker, and teachers include Cat Bordhi, Beth Brown Reinsel, Lily Chin, Edie Eckman, Fiona Ellis, Jared Flood, Meg Swansen and Amy Detjen, and yours truly. More than 30 vendors will also be on hand throughout the day, including Jennie the Potter, Kimmet Croft Fibers, and The Yarnery.

In the Forum: Fix or Forget?
Robinstephanie is working on a pair of socks with lots of stitches on teeny tiny needles. Much to her chagrin, she just noticed a mistake several rows back. Her question: Should she frog and fix, or forgive the blooper and move on?
