Knitter's Review
March 1, 2012
artichoke and swatch

In 2003 I fell in love with a plush, spongy wool yarn from Oregon. I didn't know anything about the farm or even the sheep breed, I simply ordered a yarn, sight unseen, and the package captivated me.

Nine years, three books, and hundreds of yarns later, the stakes are certainly higher. Generations of sheep have come and gone, but the Oregon farm remains. I thought it fitting to return to this mythical yarn and see if it's still as good as I originally thought. Let's return to Imperial Stock Ranch for a re-swatch.

Next Weekend: Camp in Cambridge
The third-annual FiberCamp Boston takes place March 9-11 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This "un-conference" is unique in that its workshop topics and teachers are made up of attendees. Everyone with something to share and teach is given a platform for doing so. Professor and Flint Knits designer Pamela Wynne kicks off the event on Friday night with a lecture at MIT's Stata Center.

In the Forums: Life's Eternal Question
It's time to check in on the eternal question: What is your favorite yarn and why? I'd love to read your answer.
