Knitter's Review
February 28, 2013
Sweet Georgia Silk Mist and a seashell from Florida

For years, I've avoided writing about the carbon composite needle.

I liked the idea, but when I tried out a set, I found the tips to feel like a rough piece of fiberglass. No splinters, but no pleasure either.

When Knitter's Pride announced their Karbonz needles, I thought, "Oh no, here we go again." But then they changed their design to feature smooth, nickel-plated brass tips. Aha! Time for a closer look.

Upcoming Events
The Madison Knitters' Guild hosts its annual Knit-In on March 8-9 at the Bishop O'Connor Center. In addition to workshops and a special presentation by Elsebeth Lavold, you'll also find a marketplace with 30 of Wisconsin's finest fiberarts vendors. Not to be outdone, 29 of Michigan's finest will be vending at Ann Arbor's Fiber Expo Spring, March 9-10 at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds. If you're further south, don't miss the Charlotte Fiber Festival held March 8-10 at the Metrolina Tradeshow Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In the Forums: Missing Knits
Donna asks a difficult question: Have any of you had your handknits stolen? How do you feel about it?
