Knitter's Review

White Gum Wool in a pewter bowl

Imagine the chutzpah it took for an American to move to Australia, the sheep capital of the world, and start a farm. Now imagine this person is a woman with no farming experience.

This, in a nutshell, is the story of American "city-slicker" Nan Bray, a former Marine physicist turned wool grower. Her yarn, White Gum Wool, is the focus of this week's Knitter's Review.

Coming Up
Celebrate British wool this weekend in Cumbria, England, at the 11th annual Woolfest at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre in Cockermouth. Stuck in the States? Gas up the car and head to Interstate 91, where, from New Haven, Connecticut, to Putney, Vermont, twelve yarn stores will be participating in the I-91 Shop Hop. You'll find details and many more things to do in our extensive online calendar of events.

In the Forums: Terms of Endearment
Carolyn's husband calls her knitting "fuzz therapy." What's your nickname for it?
